Rent Road Bikes or Crosstrail Bikes on a 24 hour or day basis because the best riding on a weekend is done early in the morning on Highway 101 south to Manzanita and back (30 miles) or you can continue to Nehalem on Hwy 101 turn left on the North Fork Road and continue north on County Hwy 53 to Hwy 26 west and south Hwy 101 to Cannon Beach (52 miles) or from Seaside north to Ft. Clatsop National Park & Astoria (18 to 22 miles) on newly improved Lewis and Clark/Logan Road any day on this road because there is no traffic and no large truck traffic

2007 Specialized Crosstrail Expert
2007/2008 Specialized CROSSTRAIL Expert "loaded touring bike" with 700 X 35 c kevlar belted tires and fenders available in 49cm (18") 52cm (19.5") and 55cm (21") or roughly equivalent of a 53, 57, and 59 cm road bike.

$12 for 1 hour, $30 for 4 hours, $40 for 24 hours, weekend (48 hrs.) $65, $150 for 1 week or 7 days add $7 /day for a bike equipped with a front hbar bag and rear rack with touring panniers plus front and rear lights.

One week can take you from Cannon Beach to the Oregon /California Border on Hwy 101 Ship the bike back to us from CoosBay, Oregon or Crescent City, California Bike Shops Helmets and Locks and rear flashing lights included with all rentals Reservations secured with 50% deposit

AN AUTO-FREE VACATION for the ecologically minded

Mikes Bike Shop is easily accessible by public transportation via AMTRAK or Air (PDX). A bus leaves the Portland AMTRAK station daily at 6 p.m. and arrives in Cannon Beach (1st stop) at 7:45 p.m. Lodging can be accessed via http://www.cannon-beach.net . You also can return directly to Portland at 10:15 a.m. any day leaving Cannon Beach at 8:30 a.m. Cost is $16 each way; children are half price. Yes Martha we don't have to take our gas guzzling SUV to Cannon Beach and spend $70 in gas for a round trip from Seattle. Mike's Bike Shop has customers from the West Coast who use this system and save sales taxes as well.

Note: Bikes can be carried in the luggage compartment of the bus if the front wheel is removed and the handle bars are turned sideways.
